Any taste of Tuscany

The final “Fuori Expo” event of the Tuscany Region, Any Taste of Tuscany, la Toscana a Milano, is going to be held from the 30th of October until the 1st of November, in the splendid setting of the cloisters of the Umanitaria in Milan.
Nineteen of Tuscany’s most representative Consortia, fourteen for wine and five for gastronomical products, in defence of Tuscany’s major DOCG, DOC and IGP products, will be saying goodbye to the Universal Exhibition 2015 from the former convent, making their excellent food and wines available for tastings, courses and shows.
The wine bar is going to host lunches, dinners and cocktails, serving the region’s finest wines and typical, traditional dishes, accompanied by music and events like HalloWine, the evening featuring the Dj set.
Every day, visitors can taste different labels of the fourteen wine appellations present, taking part in unconventional tastings, like the appointment God Save the Tuscany – the successful format created by Florence’s own Andrea Gori – participating in the cooking shows of chef Paolo Gori and food and wine critic Leonardo Romanelli, and taking part in the playful tastings of extra virgin olive oil, to find the odd one out.
With the cooking course of the Pappa Academy, Tuscan housewives will be teaching Milanese audiences how to cook one of the most famous Tuscan dishes, Pappa al Pomodoro; the audience can then taste the dish prepared, along with the other products present for tasting, such as ham, finocchiona, the new harvest olive oil and naturally leavened bread. The Tuscan brunch will alternate with tastings of crudités from Tuscan butchers and guided wine tastings, like that held by journalist Daniele Cernilli.
Three busy days concentrating on taste and tradition, which will be transformed into an ideal journey to explore every corner of Tuscany and fit perfectly into the Expo theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.
