Food Bloggers and Vernaccia di San Gimignano: Tasty Proposals for the Christmas Table

The Consorzio della Denominazione San Gimignano has launched the first contest for pairing the wine of its territory, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, with the aim of discovering new frontiers for this wine, which has made Tuscan and Italian winemaking history.

A food contest which brings together 18 food bloggers from all over Italy, exercising their creative talents to propose an original recipe paired with Vintage and Reserve Vernaccia di San Gimignano: an opportunity to rediscover the versatility of this great Italian white wine at the table.

The recipes of the contestants will be published every day on the Facebook page of the Consorzio della Vernaccia di San Gimignano and this will give us the opportunity to know more about them and their food blogs, and to discover lots of labels and their producers.

The creations of the food bloggers will be tasted by a technical panel of judges. The winner, selected on the basis of the creativity of the recipe and the success of the pairing, will be announced in Florence on Wednesday 10 December.

All the recipes will be published in an e-book dedicated to Christmas in the company of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, in which a brief presentation of the authors and their blogs will be included, along with the reasons for the pairing, for each recipe.
