The Consorzio della Denominazione San Gimignano is in a position to provide the traceability of each bottle of Vernaccia di San Gimignano produced starting from January 2012 owing to the data implemented by its own certification body.

By entering the alphanumeric code indicated on the neck of each bottle of Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, it is possible to obtain the data pertaining to the producer, the vintage, the number of bottles in the batch and the main analytical data of the wine. It is also possible to access the email link and the website of the producer.

NOTES – The analytical data refer to the batches of wine certified as eligible to be designated Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG. Any limited differences with the data provided are to be considered absolutely normal, as they result from the regular evolution of the product. Such deviations may be more or less evident depending on the time elapsed since the wine was bottled, the storage conditions and normal analytical variability.

ACTUAL ALCOHOLIC STRENGTH

Actual alcoholic strength indicates the volume percent of alcohol present in the product. Alcohol is produced as a result of the conversion of grape sugar by yeasts.

NET DRY EXTRACT

The net dry extract consists of all the substances present in the wine except sugar, alcohol and water. The higher its value, the greater the body and intensity of the wine.

TOTAL ACIDITY

Total acidity is a parameter that indicates the balance of the wine. Its value corresponds to the sum of the different acids present in the wine (expressed as g/l of tartaric acid).
